Green Fund Initiatives in the REC
2010 REC Lights ( Phase 1)
The Green Fund awarded the REC Eagle Center $80,350 to replace inefficient lighting systems in the spring of 2010. 80 halide/high pressure sodium fixtures with fluorescent fixtures. The fund also reduced the number of ballast input watts from 920 to 360.
2011 REC Lights (Phase 2)
Phase 2 replaced all of the fixtures and lamps in various rooms in the REC (multipurpose room, climbing wall, racquet ball courts, aerobics room, martial arts room, and the locker rooms). An assessment occurred later that year and a 15.68% decrease in kWHr (kilowatt hours) after the completion of this project.
