UWL Green Fund
UWL's Green Fund Grant allows students, staff, and faculty to propose new and innovative ideas for sustainable practices that can be implemented into campus. Each semester up to $7 is collected from each student and put into the Green Fund. Thats up to $60,000 per semester to put towards your next great idea!

Campus Garden - 2014
One of the most recent Green Fund projects is the campus garden. Raised beds were put in right outside of the archaeology center, and there are plans to harvest what is grown and supply it to our on campus dining services.
Water Bottles - 2013
The Green Fund provided money to purchase permanent recycle bi Reusable water bottles were purchased through the Green Fund and given out to first year students as they signed a pledge to not bring plastic water bottles to campus as they moved in.
Veterans Stadium Recycle Bins - 2011
The Green Fund provided money to purchase permanent recycle bins for the sports complex on campus. While major events are held at our stadium for both collegiate and high school sports teams, the use of these recycling bins spikes dramatically.
Bicycle Powered Concert - 2009
The UWL Environmental Council sponsored a bicycle powered concert that only cost the Green Fund $2,500 due to its innovative design. The majority of the power needed for the concert was generated by students riding stationary energy generating bicycles onstage.
